Mike was pretty rubbish, only really cared about taking the rent from us, he had no real concerns on regard to our basic safety. He really did do thebare minimum and looking back I realise he made all of us Tennant's believe that the problems with the house were because of us and were our responsibility. Its only since moving out (into a well maintained property) I realise how terrible he really was

Property was in pretty poor condition, landlord lived in Dubai and was using the property as an investment and therefore didn't want to spend any money on maintanance. Don't think they'd done any renovation for about 20 years, lots of black mould in the bathroom and bedrooms, if we complained to the agent enough then he would tell us to buy paint and do it ourselves. The heating barely worked, and the gas stove was incorrectly installed. When we eventually got a new one, the guy who installed it had a massive argument with the agent because it was so dangerous and he was concerned for our safety. The house was double glazed (in the 60's) and full of condensation between the panes, most had also been glued shut by the agent in an effort to make the building less draughty,

Area rating

Generally good, nice distance to Chorlton and pretty leafy part of whalley range. We were burgled two months into our tenancy. Big problem with fly tipping in the area, abandoned tyres/mattresses/fridges are a common sight. Try and keep off the roads in the evenings around there as there's lots of boy racers that drive down the residential streets at 60mph. I've seen a lot of crashes over the two years in that property
