Before we moved in C J Hole said we wouldn't have to pay renewal fees but then, after we'd signed the contract, said we would have to. Towards the end of the contract, C J Hole sent us an email threatening to issue an eviction notice if we didn't renew the contract or say we would be moving out. They also didn't know important things, like where to put our rubbish.

CJ Hole was probably the worst agency I have ever come across.
Moving in was frustrating, lack of communication as well as an extortionate agency fee with zero service for the fee. When asked to break this down the manager couldn't even justify it but demanded payment. After all this we were refused an inventory and told to do our own inventory??!
Throughout the time at the flat CJ Hole's performance in getting messages to the landlord and getting things fixed or addressed at the flat was dragged out, it took 8 months to get the freezer working, along with other hickups.
Fraudulent invoices from contractors and cleaners when moving out to try and take as much of our deposit as possible was really the last straw. However as they never made an inventory for us to sign they shot themselves in the foot and we disputed the deposit and got a full refund.
Since then we have advised friends to avoid CJ Hole. Our experience with this agency was the worst imaginable, the stress of dealing with them and the raw abrasive manner in which they would communicate with us was unforgivable.
Please avoid this agency.

£180 agency fees, in our exception we were only required for a property deposit and not a holding deposit.
When looking for another property through this agent we were faced with £1,800 each for deposits + agency fees.

Agency fees were about £150 each. I had a severe damp problem in my bedroom which I reported initially in December and had to nag to get it sorted. Finally it has been fixed in March but I was given money off my rent for those 3 months and it has been repaired properly, not a botched job. The staff member who has been dealing with me has been attentive and kind. I can't fault them too much as they're essentially just messengers between the landlady and I (I have only had direct contact with her once.) so overall I'm happy with their service.
