The landlord don't communicate through EMAIL or message. I have to call but never showed up to fix anything! He promised to fix his old stove and the shower from the beginning of the tenancy and he never did. He sent plumber to check one time because the plumber already came to his sisters's flat that was opposite to ours! The plumber said the shower need to be changed and he never showed up again. The house developed serious mould too and the Landlord failed to fix again. I didn't know at that time that I can sue him for the health hazard otherwise I would sue him.
Despite all that, the landlord wanted to take half of my deposit without any reason and kept delaying the process until I had to raise statutory declaration of tenant with a solicitor. They gave him 14 days to respond and then he responded to ask for half of the deposit amount. Then I raised a dispute and I received my money back with the deposit protection as soon as he submitted his evidences! It didn't require me to submit any evidences as it was clearly fraud by the landlord.
