The landlord was generally very slow to respond. It took over a month to retrieve bank details from them to pay our first month’s rent. They would frequently take over a week to respond to our emails, and were poorly organised, often sending us incoherent responses or forwarding us wrong emails. Additionally and most egregiously, they wrongly attempted to take over £800 of our deposit. They repeatedly brought up the same points and refused to accept our quotes for repaired, insisting on charging us over 3 times the cost for necessary repairs. This was only resolved after 6 months of discussions when we went to the DPS, who sided with us and our suggested price.
