Mr Scobie was often unreliable, however did get some issues sorted.
When we moved into the flat there were a number of issues. We did not get a response from Mr Scobie for many weeks, at which point Mr Scobie replaced some appliances (the toadter had been shooting sparks out of it, and the microwave produced sparks). Some issues remained, such as a wardrobe door that fell of onto one of the tenants, so we contacted the council about reviewing the HMO licence, at which point Mr Scobie sent a handyman to fix some of the issues.
Approaching the end of our residency, Mr Scobie advertised the property despite us having made no formal mention of ending the tenancy, and signed new tenants on before we had done said we were leaving.
A summary of Mr Scobie's attitude would be a comment he made when a painter came around to quote the painting of the flat. When discussing the timescale of such a project, Mr Scobie commented that "it doesn't have to be a good job, it's only a student flat". This highlights the attitude we felt for a lot of our tenancy.
Mr Scobie's attitude resulted in one tenant feeling uncomfortable communicating with or being in the property at the same time as him.
