Renting from this landlord was a negative experience. When we moved in, the property was not ready for occupancy and we had to push him to fix items around the property. This took longer than expected and his level of communication was aloof. We were also not provided with keys for all the doors, including the side entrance, which made accessing our home unnecessarily difficult and potentially dangerous during a fire.

At the end of our tenancy, the landlord blamed us for issues that were already there when we moved in and refused to return a large chunk of our deposit. Based on my experience, I would not recommend renting from this landlord. After looking into his name online and speaking with other tenants from our previous property, I found reports of similar experiences, which shows a pattern of issues.

Repairs took a long time and were sometimes left unfinished - for example a window was left with masking tape holding he frame, which he then tried to take money out of our deposit for. He withheld our deposit and only returned it in full after small claims court. It was stressful communicating with him during moving out and settling up.
