Selly is wonderful and Bournbrook is just on the edge of the nastiness so it's perfect

The location is amazing, right opposite Aldi. You have to walk down an alley to get to the flat which looks dodgy but its just the back of Pepes, Pizza Land etc and they are all really friendly. Because its out the way, its a lot safer than all the houses on the main roads getting break ins etc.

Selly Oak is dodgy but the road is relatively quiet and we're right next to tesco and uni.

Can be noisy if you have a front bedroom and it's a Wednesday sports night, but otherwise fine. Short walk to all Bristol Road shops and amenities. We didn't directly witness as much crime as you might expect for Selly Oak.

It's Selly Oak, so don't expect a "nice, quiet" area in the typical sense. There will be noise at nights and some areas are a bit grotty, but in my opinion Heeley Road is one of the best parts. The house is very close to the station which is great, as well two minutes' walk from the local booze/convenience store, Campus Wines. Being on a cul-de-sac off Heeley makes it feel a little more homely than in a standard terraced house like in most of Selly Oak.

the location of the house is very nice, it’s a little off the road so I felt safe, considering Selly oak has a lot of crime. local transport links and shops good.

Residents in the area are predominantly students, with a few families. A fair few local amenities available on the high street (supermarkets, food outlets, pubs etc.)

Basically just a standard student area a bit gross but everyone/everything is just a few mins walk so who can complain.

Very very noisy road - I was kept awake every Wednesday night by sports teams coming and going to the Guild, and woken up several nights a week by people arguing/shouting/generally being loud in the street. Also really isn't the most pleasant of roads with lots of rubbish scattered around and bins lining the pavements. Really not a good location if you like sleep.
