Property is a very small 1 bed flat in Bolton which I was paying £425 a month for. Then half way through a 12 months tenancy I received a letter from Boomerang Poperty stating that the rent was to increase to £850 (Yes double) and I had 1 months notice to leave if the increase was unaffordable for me. I phoned Paul Tute and explained that I was due to fly to Thailand in 3 weeks time to get married. I asked if a compromise could be made and he reluctantly agreed for me to pay £600 a month for 3 months and then I could vacate the property. He then promised to send the agreement by email right away. The email didn't arrive until 5 weeks later when I was in the middle of my honeymoon in Phuket. I was shocked to see that Mr Tute had changed the agreement to £750 a month, ignoring the fact that 2 weeks earlier my first payment of £600 went out by standing order. I received no texts or emails to say the payment was wrong or that I was now in arrears. I emailed back saying that I had agreed to 600 not 750. Mr Tute then told me that as I was not happy with the agreement he would be referring back to his original letter, meaning I am now liable for £850 a month and would not be allowed to break my tenancy early. As anybody can imagine this was very upsetting and stressful, especially being in the middle of my honeymoon. When returning home from Thailand I managed to find alternative accommodation right away. I left the property in excellend condition, especially as I had decorated and put new carpets down in the previous 12 months. When Paul Tute completed the inventory check out he sent me a whatsapp, describing the property as disgusting. I tried to reply and dispute what he was saying but quickly realised that he had blocked me from doing so. My deposit is held with the DPS and he is now refusing to engage with the process so I can get my money back. He has not sent me a copy of the check out inventory as he knows there is nothing I can do without one. I have had several private tenancy's over the years and never had any issues. It has shocked me how unprofessional, vindictive and immoral this particular company and landlord is. I am not one to usually do reviews on anything but I though it was really important to make people aware of this company and in particular Paul Tute.
