The property my son moved into on Fishponds Road, Bristol had numerous problems on arrival. When we arrived at the property we were greeted with a mountain of rubbish outside the front of the house from old mattresses, sofas, rubbish, broken chairs, Deliveroo boxes, beer cans. This was cleared away eventually but not a good start to a tenancy! Then on entering the house the letting agent greeted us with all the problems that the last tenants had caused them, we know why now! The house was damp and mouldy and when one of the housemates went to put sheets on their mattress it was covered in mould. Over the summer the same house mate went home for a few weeks and when he came back his clothes left at the property had mould spores on them. None of the internal doors had fire door seals, the bannister on the stairs was loose, one of the bed frames was broken and couldn’t be used, the bathroom my son was sharing had a broken floor tile which was very sharp and needed replacing. This repair took around 11 months to do. Where there was mould on the walls and skirting boards this was just painted over by the maintenance people. The damp issue was not resolved either only kept at bay through the agent providing dehumidifiers which had to be run constantly. As a result the agent is saying the tenants cannot have their £1200 (in total) deposit back!! Other issues on arrival included a trampoline and lots of rubbish left in the garden space, an obvious leak in the roof area of the bay window, broken plug sockets, my sons key did not work for his room, and further on into the tenancy an infestation of mice! Avoid this company like the plague they use every excuse in the book to delay repairs and then keep your deposit to add insult to injury! We will NEVER EVER use them again!
