Not even sure where to begin with this one - sh*t tier house, sh*t tier landlords.

We moved into Coulston Road in 2017 from campus - freshly “renovated” by the new landlords for the new academic year (give or take a few weeks while they finished it off, forcing the 5 of us to live at 3 separate addresses until week 3 lol). It took a solid 2 weeks for mould to start growing in my (newly built !!!) room - not surprising when you forget to insulate a new extension? This of course meant that temperatures during winter hovered at around 4/5 degrees overnight if we were lucky - thank god bills were included (as long as you remember to never turn the central heating on for any longer than 30 minutes!).

Of course, we shouldn’t complain about our house being too expensive to heat - we didn’t even have a working boiler for about a month in the middle of winter as they hadn’t installed it properly in the first place ! The landlord gave us some electric heaters - paid for by “compensation” given to us in the form of a “rent deduction” which we were forced to use to pay our electricity meter if we didn’t want to get hypothermia! Bills included, remember !!!

Can’t complain about everything - the fixtures looked modern & seemed like a step up from Pendle posh (at least in the brief periods where they actually remained fixed to the walls). The bathrooms all worked fine enough, perfect warm places for a late night crying session brought on by your cowboy landlords and crumbling gaff x

All in all, couldn’t wait to get out of Coulston Road; haven’t even touched on about 90% of the bits that were wrong with this derelict building so creatively branded as a “student house”. If you can rent anywhere else, I’d advise you to do so - if you have a car to sleep in, that would make more sense - just stay away from this house & the cowboys who own it?
