Tenancy review for 10 Mandeville Road in St Mildreds, Canterbury rented from Adelle Stephens

Service by the landlord was terrible. Communication was poor, both wife and husband are disrespectful (to the extent that they go as far as screaming at their tenants). Repairs are poor. None of the faulty appliances are being replaced by fully working ones, even though they are getting replaced fairly quickly - hence one star. Landlord does NOT stick to agreements made. All in focus is making money off of their tenants.

Condition was poor. The entire house needed a full clean (items left from previous tenancies were found and disposed by current tenants). 6 bedrooms, 5 double bed sized (size quite large) the last single bed room is basically a cupboard. The bathrooms are old, moldy and almost all appliances are falling apart.
Black mold was found in one of the bedrooms which is situated below the second floor bathroom. Despite clear awareness by the landlord of a leak which occurred a few years prior and left the walls beneath fully wet, no precautions were taken. It is clear to assume that there is still black mold on the hallway wall (back wall to the bedroom showing clear mold infestations).
The kitchen is very old - everything is dirty to the core, especially cupboards which had not seen a single wipe down within the past years. The communal spaces are a dumping ground for the landlord to dispose of unused furniture from other properties (absolute mismatches).

Very quiet and nice neighbourhood. Roughly a 7 minute walk to the Sainsbury’s Local, 15-20 minute walk to city center.
