Repairs were generally done quickly.
Only accepted rent in cash or cheque form.
"Deposit" took the form of a months rent when signing the contract.
Could be difficult to get in contact with him as he did not have email or a mobile - his wife would usually answer the phone and tell me "he's down the farm, i'll get him to call you when hes back" (he is a farmer too)
