Given that Aberdeen is not a big city by any means, Hillhead is very far away from the city centre (a 40-minute walk). This is made up for by the fact that Hillhead itself is a fun place to be for a year to experience what it is like to live with other first-year students. Lots of partying going on, which can also mean noise pollution if you live with (or adjacent to) those who like to party.

Urquhart Road is not a very safe area. There was often a police car parked in the street to catch drug dealers, the corner store got robbed several times, and the wine shop had to close because it was too unsafe to sell luxury products in the street.

Pleasant. Friendly neighbours, although one was a hoarder with a garden full of broken down cars and electrical devices. Good transport links, good amenities, not an attractive area, but safe.

The neighbours were nice but we were very out of the way and in snow or very poor conditions you were cut off. A co-op was about 10/15 mins walk but overall too out of the way for most people.

Bus stop right outside the house to uni and into town. Lots of on street parking although we did see a couple of smashed in windows throughout the year and it could be noisy at night due to it being a student area.

Decent local area. Shops nearby but a very busy high street means lots of local noise from traffic.

Perfect for young professionals/post graduates. Have bins unlike most of Cathays and loads of takeaways shops. So close to Roath Park which is a massive bonus.

It is an amazing neighborhood. All our neighbors got along very well and the area is very pretty with nice green spaces and ideally placed between west Didsbury and Didsbury village.

Really close to university and the shops - the only good thing about this accommodation.

The flat is the only privately owned one in a block of council flats, there have been in the time I have been there two tenants who have been convicted of sexual offences, there is a lot of drug dealing and crack taking in the block. There are some nice families but this is outweighed with the social issues.
