22 Bateman Street

I took this property after online viewing. Due to lockdown I was not able to view it in person. It is very difficult to tell the condition of the property in a video, as I have learned. The furniture in the room is all broken and probably 20+ years old. Mattress is so old it bounces up and down and I am unable to sleep. Carpets are filthy. None of this was made clear and the inventory sent to me said all things were in good condition. I signed the contract in good faith expecting everything to be in good condition. The did offer to fix things after I had moved in and spent an entire day cleaning. I had no choice as I was starting work the next day and I work long hours. I tried to make it work. The broken toilet seat was urgent and I asked them to fix it which they did while I was at work when I specified very clearly that they cannot enter my room without my presence. I had to spend 2 hours after I came home from a long day at work to wipe down, wash and clean everything again.
