Tenancy review for 214 Bruntsfield Place in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh rented from Grant Property Management Ltd

The microwave, dishwasher, kettle and beds all needed to be replaced during our 5-yr stay and these came with no concerns from the landlord at all.
However the plumbing was very bad and the drains blocked up due to items in the shared pipe that served the whole block. We had to pay for repairs to this.
The bathroom was poorly ventilated and so grew mold on the walls. We had to pay for re-painting when we moved out, which felt unreasonable.

Two bedrooms, of a fairly good size. One lounge similarly sized to the bedrooms. Kitchen was minuscule and there was a “third bedroom” that could fit the washing machine and a single person inside and no more.
Furnishings were very, very basic and not in good condition. The flat hadn’t been decorated in over 5 years and even this was not done to a high standard. Windows were single glazed sash, painted shut and in a fairly bad state, unable to be cleaned from the outside.
Bathroom fixtures and installation was of low quality.

Bruntsfield is very gentrified and feels safe.
That being said it can be really noisy living directly in to the Main Street as there are lost of pubs and bars that close late.
