Tenancy review for 15 Mill Road in Petersfield, Cambridge rented from Susan Hegarty

Each tenant had similar experiences with the landlords. They refused to hear and act upon our concerns regarding the state of the property. They were rude, ignorant and aggressive! We each returned home to find our kitchen utensils thrown out into the garden and our bathroom products binned. Disgusting behaviour. In addition, I often heard the both of them screaming about individual tenants around the house, which was threatening and out of order. I believe I speak ok behalf of all the tenants when I say that they are not fit or suitable to be landlords.

The condition of the entire property was extremely poor. Mould and damp could be found around the whole property, the doors and windows were old and faulty and so there was a constant draft. When I moved in I was greeted by mushroom growth through the carpet under my bedroom sink where there was a significantly worrying leak. In addition, my bedroom wallpaper was peeling from the damp air temperature.

We were forced to share one small, poorly ventilated bathroom between eight tenants due to a broken, shower which they never attempted to fix. We witnessed the leak worsen over a short period of time, the water damage caused wood rot under the bathroom floor & this caused water hold in the ceiling below (the dining room) which also ruined the electrical connection (meaning not only did we not have a dining room light for months but this was EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!)

The only good thing, emphasis on ONLY, was the location of the property. Lots of independent shops and if you worked in the city, the positioning was ideal.
