Jay and Sharon were the best landlords. They were always responsive quickly to messages and would come round whenever we had any problems in the house. They were both so friendly and nice to deal with.

This house was lovely to live in. The house was furbished to a much higher standard than most student houses as it was previously the landlords' own house, giving it a much more homely feel. The location is peaceful, far out of central Brighton with the house surrounded by fields with horses in. The kitchen diner is huge with loads of storage space, enough for the five tenants, and the hob/oven is large and has a gas oven and electric oven. The views of the large, grassy back garden from the kitchen are very pleasant all year round. I had the one single bedroom in the house, with the other 4 bedrooms being large double rooms. The single bedroom was very cute with a large window and sloped ceiling, and plenty of storage space with the wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table and cupboard outside the room. The two bathrooms in the house are both enjoyable to use, with a larger shower cubicle downstairs and smaller shower upstairs with separate freestanding bath tub. There is space at the front of the house for one car to park on the grass, with ample parking also available on the road, and a bus stop down the road.

Brighton And Hove, Brighton

8 ★★★★★★★★☆☆
Area rating
I thoroughly enjoyed living in Brighton for 3 years while at university. It feels unlike anywhere else in the country, like its own little bubble full of eccentric people, art in the streets and generally more acceptance and tolerance than anywhere else in the UK. The downside of Brighton is the problems of homelessness and drug use which are very apparent in central Brighton. The seemingly unchecked exponential rise in drug dealers in Brighton will surely increase violent crime, which is a huge shame in such an otherwise idyllic place. There is also a huge wealth gap in Brighton, with areas such as Withdean and Dyke Road having huge mansions and supercars, while areas such as Whitehawk and Bevendean have very deprived residents often with generations of low socioeconomic status.
