Tenancy review for 192 Stanmore Lane in St Luke, Winchester rented from Liz Macleod

The service provided by our landlord has been abysmal. She regularly comes to the house without giving 24 hours notice, she does not reply to any messages from the tenants for multiple days at a time, regardless of any issue we may have. We have currently had no working WiFi for the past two weeks and Liz has given us no information on what she is doing to fix this. And on two occasions her husband Neil has come over to the house and verbally abused two of the tenants, including shouting and swearing in their faces. They still regularly come over now during a global pandemic with absolutely no regard for social distancing or the further spread of the virus. Liz also talks down to us in a condescending, sarcastic manner.

The house has 5 double bedrooms, rented to students at £2200 PCM. One of these rooms is legally too small to rent out as mentioned by the council, and three of these bedrooms have severe mould, this issue has been raised to the landlord, Liz Macleod, on multiple occasions and nothing has been done, on one occasion even resulting in her saying it is our fault and responsibility to deal with, even though there is no way of us doing this. There is also many other issues with the house, including a shed with a caved in roof, in which we need access to in the summer due to storage of lawn equipment, this is a serious health issue as there are sharp, rusty bits of metal poking out and the roof has caved in. There are water marks on walls due to pipes leaking, plaster peeling off most ceilings in the house, a bed that had bed bugs, a dishwasher that has been broken for the entire tenancy, a shower that regularly breaks due to an old/faulty shower pump.
