When attending the office to put down the holding deposit they took our money and then threw upon us more fees that would need to be paid before moving in, such as a damage deposit and a months rent. This came to over £1000. Since moving into the property there has been a huge lack of communication, we have not even been informed who our landlord is if we wanted to contact them and any contact with them takes weeks to go through or to be answered. When new people came to view the house they would leave the doors unlocked when all residents were out of the house and left windows on the bottom floor open also.

When moving into the property in July the estate agent told us of any damages that would be fixed within the next few weeks. This included a toilet roll holder coming out of the wall, a radiator hanging off the wall, toilet dripping water into the pan constantly, broken shower etc. However, it took 3 months before even the shower and toilet roll holder was fixed. The radiator is still hanging off the wall to date, with no update to when this will be fixed. Since living in the property we have had the washing machine break twice and was left without a washer/dryer for 3 weeks. The heating has been broken since moving in and still is not fixed, the boiler keeps breaking and the shower goes cold within minutes of being in it. The radiators keep breaking, the gas stove leaks gas consistently and none of the bedroom door locks work.

The property is close to the university but in regards to being close to many other things it is not. A walk to the supermarket takes around 25 minutes, there are no pubs or bars nearby and the nearest corner shop is very expensive so not even worth going to. There is no community feeling in the area and neighbours do not like any noise, even on weekends and often make complaints to the university or police.
